About Us

High-Impact Learning Initiatives, a unit of the Office of Undergraduate Education offers active learning practices and programs that enhance student coursework and provide significant benefits to students during their undergraduate experience and beyond.  Specifically, our services focus on students interested in conducting research, launching a startup, or being part of a community.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP):  UROP offers the structure, resources, incentives, and encouragement students need to conduct research with faculty, industry partners, and fellow students.  Some of the more popular programs include the President’s Undergraduate Research Awards, the Research Option and the Undergraduate Research Symposium.  The projects students work on will better prepare them for graduate school and employment and make them more appealing candidate for both.  To learn more go to http://www.urop.gatech.edu.
